04/27/2008 - TOBYHANNA FEDERAL CREDIT UNION SUPPORTS WALK AND FREE HOTDOGS

Tobyhanna FCU supported the Children's Advocacy Center Moonlight Run/Walk by providing free hotdogs and refreshments to all the participants. The event took place on Sunday April 27, 2008 at the Nay Aug Park in Scranton. The annaul event benefits child victims of physical and sexual abuse and neglect. The Childrens Advocacy Center (CAC) of NEPA serves 6 counties in northeastern PA. The event also included a childrens fun run, face painting, and educational tables. The mission of the CAC is to provide medical assessment and treatment of abused children, reduce the trauma of abuse and promote prevention education. 04/19/2008 - TOBYHANNA FEDERAL CREDIT UNION SENDING THEIR MEMBERS OFF TO COLLEGE

Tobyhanna Federal Credit Union, recently announced the winners of its John Paul Ruggiero scholarship at its 54th Annual Meeting. The meeting took place at Genetti’s Hotel & Conference Center, Wilkes Barre, PA. This years winners were David Homanko, Hazleton Area, Kailey Bedford, West Scranton High School and Michael Anthony Kachmarksy, Wyoming Area High School. Each year the Youth Committee of the Tobyhanna Federal Credit Union prepares a scholarship contest for high school graduates. Accepted applicants must be a Credit Union member and attending a 2 or 4- year accredited post-secondary institution in either the Fall or Spring semesters. Three levels of awards are honored based on the review of submitted applications received from the participants. Scholarships are based on the students academic achievement, community involvement, activities (leadership, sports, etc.), and demonstrated financial need. The youth committee awards three scholarships 1st $2,500, 2nd $1,500, and 3rd, $1,000. 04/11/2008 - TOBYHANNA FEDERAL CREDIT UNION HAS MEMBERS COUNTING JELLY BEANS

The East Stroudsburg branch recently held a jelly bean counting contest for the youth members of the Tobyhanna Federal Credit Union. Members were able to enter their lucky guesses for a chance to win the jar full of candy and a $20.00 Blockbuster gift card. Kylie Medrano was the lucky winner in this years Easter festivity. The East Stroudsburg branch is located on 4 Progress Street in East Stroudsburg. Anyone who lives or works within a three-mile radius between East Stroudsburg and Stroudsburg is automatically eligible for membership. This is just one way to join. 04/01/2008 - IT’S SOFTBALL SEASON AT TOBYHANNA FEDERAL CREDIT UNION

The Youth Committee of the Tobyhanna Federal Credit Union is proud to announce that they will be supporting the Tripp Park Miss-E Softball League in 2008. The Tripp Park Miss-E League is located in the “Tripp Park" section of the 'West Side' of Scranton, Pennsylvania. The league enjoyed its inaugural season in 1968, and was established to teach young girls of the area the fundamental, intermediate and advanced skills of fast pitch softball, along with lifelong traits of teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, responsibility and positive attitude. Membership consists of girls from the Scranton metropolitan area, ages 5 thru 17. The fields are located at the Dorothy Street Complex in West Scranton. The fields are also the home University of Scranton, Lackawanna College, and Scranton Preparatory School, all collegiate and scholastic women's softball teams. The park also serves as the home to the Northeast Stars, an AAU-type program that provides softball competition for females between the ages of 12 and 18. The Youth Committee’s purpose is to create and support new youth programs and initiatives for the respective credit union members and the youth within the supporting communities. 03/26/2008 - NOW IS THE TIME TO SIGN UP FOR THE GOLF COURSE

Tobyhanna Army Depot Federal Credit Union will be holding its 5th Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, June 09th, 2007. The event will take place at Blue Ridge Trail Golf Club, located conveniently off I-81 in Mountaintop.

The golf tournament will be held with a 4-flight captain and crew format. Anyone can support this event by participating and/or becoming a sponsor. All proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The credit unions goal is to raise enough money to grant a child’s wish.

03/24/2008 - TOBYHANNA FEDERAL CREDIT UNION MEANS BUSINESS

Select staff of Tobyhanna FCU participated in the East Stroudsburg Business Expo held March 12 & 13, 2008. The event took place at the East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania Koehler Field house. The staff distributed membership information, giveaways, and more to all the attendees. It was a great way to show community support and increase awareness of the credit unions 3-mile radius automatic eligibility for that county. 03/07/2008 - TOBYHANNA FEDERAL CREDIT UNION SERVING UP MORE THAN FINANCIAL SERVICES

Select employees of the Tobyhanna FCU donated their time to the St. Francis of Assisi kitchen located in Scranton, PA. The staff helped prepare and serve food to the local patrons.

Travis Frey and David Dixon, employees of the Tobyhanna Army Depot FCU, attended the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C. March 2-6, 2008. The GAC is a highly respected event that focuses on issues and challenges facing today’s credit union leaders. All taxpayers, whether members or not, benefit from the presence of credit unions in the marketplace. Credit union competition helps keep bank and savings and loan prices lower.

02/02/2008 - TOBYHANNA FEDERAL CREDIT UNION WILL BOWL YOU OVER

Employees and their family members of Tobyhanna FCU recently participated in the Wyoming Valley Chapter Bowling Tournament. Tobyhanna FCU placed first and second in this year’s event. First place was the team “Gutter Busters” and Second place was the team “Pin Poppers” Congratulations to the employees and for participating in this fundraising event.

09/04/2007 - CREDIT UNION EMPLOYEES AND BREAST CANCER ACTIVISTS

Tobyhanna Army Depot Federal Credit Union received an award at the 17th Annual Komen NEPA Race for the Cure reception held on August 30, 2007. Nina Waskevich, Marketing & Sales Manager and Sherry Domozych, EFT Specialist, proudly accepted the sponsorship award. The credit union will also be participating as a team in this year’s race taking place in Scranton on September 8, 2007. Tobyhanna Federal Credit Union is proud to support and donate to this great foundation for all its continued efforts and hard work in fighting against breast cancer.

04/19/2007 - TOBYHANNA FEDERAL CREDIT UNION ANNOUNCES BALANCE PARTNERSHIP

Tobyhanna Federal Credit Union today announced their partnership with BALANCE Financial Fitness Program. Rising consumer debt, ever-increasing numbers of bankruptcy filings, and growing numbers of predatory financial services have resulted in a greater need for comprehensive education and counseling from a trusted resource.

San Francisco-based BALANCE provides financial education and counseling programs to partnering credit unions nationwide. Services include money management and housing counseling, a debt repayment plan, credit report review, and a toll-free information line - all free to members.

04/13/2007 - GROUND Breaking News For Tobyhanna Army Depot Federal Credit Union

Employees and Board members gathered on April 11, 2007 for a ground breaking picture at the site of the new Wilkes-Barre Branch of the Tobyhanna Army Depot Federal Credit Union. Board Secretary, Bob Miscavage proudly turned over the first shovel for the project. The new full-service branch will be located on Schetcher Drive (next to Boston’s Pizza) off of Interstate 81 via exit 168. The branch is scheduled to open in late summer to early fall 2007. 03/23/2007 - Tobyhanna Federal Credit Union Going Red On Fridays

All branch locations of the Tobyhanna Army Depot FCU are currently wearing and selling t-shirts to support “Red Fridays”. Red Fridays is a national movement to show suport of the troops. The movement was inspired by an article that has been circulating around the United States describing a final plane ride home for a fallen Marine who was accompanied by a fellow marine.

02/12/2007 - STAR EMPLOYEE RISES UP THE LADDER

Jessica Hicks from the Tobyhanna Army Depot Federal Credit Union (TADFCU) was recently promoted to branch manger of the Tobyhanna office location. Jessica began her career with TADFCU in 1999 as a Teller at the Tobyhanna Branch. In 2000, she was promoted to a New Accounts Representative and in 2001 joined the staff of the Lending Department. Jessica held the position of Loan Officer until her promotion to Tobyhanna Branch Manager on January 28, 2007.
